Male', MALDIVES - Victory coach Mauroof Ahmed confirmed that he will no longer be an active football coach after this season. During the ceremony held at FAM house today to sign the deal with Victory’s foreign players, Mauroof said he always think about resigning at the end of every season. But Mauroof assured that after this season he will no longer be an active coach and he already informed that to club management. “I always think of resigning at the end of every season, but this is a profession so hard for me to leave” “But I have informed the club management that I cannot stay as an active coach in next season, but that doesn’t mean I am leaving this profession forever” he said answering a question from maldivesoccer.com. As a coach and a player Mauroof shared numerous successes with Victory. As a keeper and under his captaincy he won National Tournament (now President’s Cup) thrice in a row and repeated the same magic as a coach. He also qualified Victory to continental tournament, AFC Cup in the last two years. His credentials as a player also include being a key member of Maldives national team that won the very first silver medal back in 1991 in the SAFF Games held in Sri Lanka
